Selling in Business:
“Selling is not the same as marketing, nor is it just a component of marketing. It’s a distinct business function. Marketing involves all those activities designed to “attract” the customer to your products and services. Selling involves all those activities designed to “win” the customer’s business. Marketing alone is often not enough to generate sufficient sales to make our businesses successful. We must take control of the selling process to ensure we’re continually recruiting new customers, identifying their needs and providing them with the products and services to meet those needs. That’s the purpose of the selling process – to meet customer needs. As a result of meeting those needs, we make the sale. It’s the win-win approach – an approach that leads to success.”

Positive Attitude:
“ What does it take to have a successful business? Well, you need clear goals and a plan to achieve those goals. You need good quality products, competitively priced, that the marketplace wants. You need reliable, highly skilled staff. You need good systems and financial controls. And you need good management. These are the things you need to “have”. But like the person who has everything going for them – wealth, education, intelligence, connections, good looks – and is still not successful, you can possess all the “haves” in your business and yet still not succeed. That’s because your success depends on what you do with what you have. It depends on your behavior. And in behavior, to paraphrase Shakespeare, “Attitude is the thing!” Our attitude is the most powerful tool we have as human beings. Taking control of our attitude is essential to achieving business success.”
